Her mother worked as teacher at a local school and was an unremarkable actor, while her father sold automobiles. Jennifer was a resident of British Columbia for most of her life when her mother and other four children moved there. Jennifer did not have a good education, despite being a talented child. In the years that her interest in theatre was fading, she began to participate in theatre plays to help her mom. Her children were all encouraged to be passionate about the arts.
